• Estimating / Design
  
  Our experienced estimating team work hand-in-hand with qualified structural designers to provide a quick response and price for most structural design schemes, and we use our considerable combined knowledge of the industry to provide a true estimate that will avoid unforeseen 'extras' at the end of a contract, which may provide unwanted budgetary problems for both us and our Clients.
  We can produce full lump sum prices, Bills of Quantity or simply a budget price that will assist in the accurate budgeting of potential developments.
  Value engineering suggestions can be made to complement the Structural Engineer's design to come up with the most effective and productive overall design for the job.
  The importance of connection design is often overlooked in the costing process, but our design team are available at both the estimate and construction stages to ensure that this critical element receives the proper attention that it deserves.
  
  
  
  
• Contract Management
  
  We utilise a single point of contact strategy for contract management - upon receipt of an order, we appoint a senior contract manager to look after the job - backed up by account managers, he will be available for contact for the contract duration and beyond by all the usual methods - landline and mobile telephone, email and fax.
  This approach ensures that we catch all the amendments to the contract, keep on top of any problems that may arise, and more importantly keep the Client advised of any programme and/or cost adjustments as the job progresses.
  
  
• Modelling / Detailing
  
  Although the steelwork industry will refer to workshop drawings as 'detail' drawings for some time, the detailing process has changed dramatically over the past few years.
  All our fabrication drawings are prepared from 3D models, produced in-house using Tekla Structures industry leading modelling software.
  The automatic manufacturing data is used for cost and production management, and accurate nc (manufacturing) files are fed through our network to the shopfloor machines, resulting in an accurate finished product that will be fabricated exactly to the 3D model specifications and dimensions.

  Our steelwork is fabricated from one or both of our two workshops, using Peddinghaus and Kaltenbach drills and saws to ensure the accuracy of drilled holes length tolerances to industry code standards.
  Our fully trained workforce work hand-in-hand with shopfloor management and contract staff to provide a quality product delivered to programme requirements.
  
  The full production process is carried out under controlled conditions at our Brompton plant, and our quality controlled procedures have earned us full accreditation to ISO9001 and ISO14001.
  
  
  
  
  
• Erection
  
  The final stage of our contract is delivery to site - this is where our clients see the steelwork package that they have procured, and as such we look on this as an extremely important part of our service.
  Our experienced and properly trained site teams work hand in hand with our contract management staff to ensure that the frame is erected on time, and most importantly in a safe manner using certified mobile craneage and access platforms.
  A site manager is appointed to the contract, and he will be empowered to take decisions on behalf of the company, attending site meetings and accepting site instructions.
  Of course Health and Safety is of paramount importance, and Hambleton Steel are at the forefront of this aspect of site operations within the industry.
